Ravindra Jadeja is probably going through one of the toughest phases of his career. He was the Man of the Match in the last international game he played and is it to play for India after that.

As of now, his place in the Test team is safe and secure, but in limited overs format, selectors have again ignored him and have denied him a place in the India team. He isn’t there in the Indian team for the ODI series against New Zealand and looking at the trend; there will be no surprises in he will not find a place in T20I series as well.

Now the only way left to get a recall is by playing well in domestic cricket and Jadeja has done what he has been asked to do.
Playing for Saurashtra, Jadeja played an inning of 201 for his side before getting dismissed. Looking at his previous centuries for Saurashtra, there were chances that he might vault into record books by scoring his fourth triple century of his Ranji career but the dream wasn’t fulfilled as he was dismissed as soon as he reached the score of 200.

Still, Jadeja made his presence felt in the domestic circuit and straightaway sent out a message to the selectors that he is raring to come back in the Indian team.
Till the time of Lunch on Day 2, Saurashtra were at a score of 563/7. Apart from Jadeja, Sheldon Jackson also scored a century, and he played quick-fire innings of 181 off 156. Cheteshwar Pujara, the skipper, though could just manage 13 runs with the bat.
Robin Uthappa, who got a good start, could not convert it into a big one and was dismissed on a score of 37.

For Jammu and Kashmir, skipper Parvez Rasool is himself leading the charge with two wickets to his name while Waseem Raza has too scalped two wickets for his side.
The home side Saurashtra will look to get near a score of 700 or more so as their bowlers can come into play and aim for 20 wickets in the remaining days. Jadeja’s role with the ball will be very crucial as in the year 2015 as well; he made a comeback to the Indian team riding on his performance with the ball in the Ranji season.
