There are still a good few days left before Diwali but former India star Virender Sehwag, as well as the other Indians, have already got their gifts as India thrashed Pakistan 3-1 at the Maulana Bhashani National Hockey Stadium on Sunday (October 15) to move to the top of Pool A in Asia Cup.

Fresh from the 7-0 thrashing of Bangladesh, India did not take long to open the scoring against the arch-rivals as Chinglensana Singh gave India the lead in the 17th minute with a powerful drive. India kept on attacking, but Pakistan managed to hold firm. India then deservedly got their second in the 44th minute when a long pass from Harmanpreet Singh at the Pakistan post was touched by an unmarked and diving Ramanpreet Singh.

A couple of minutes later, India put the game to the bed when drag-flicker Harmanpreet Singh scored his fifth goal of the tournament to make it 3-0 for India. Ali soon pulled one back for Pakistan, but India held on to their 2-goal advantage to win the game 3-1.
And as soon as the hooter was blown, a delighted Virender Sehwag could not stop himself from congratulation India and take a dig at Pakistan.

One of the most popular cricketers on Twitter, the swashbuckling opener, who used to make life difficult for the Pakistani team during his playing days, never shies away from taking a dig at the arch-rivals and Sunday did not see any exception either.
“Congratulations India on beating Pakistan 3-1 in #AsiaCup2017 #INDvPAK . Thank you for the advance diwali gift @TheHockeyIndia,” he wrote on Twitter.
