Remember the memorable innings played by Kapil Dev in the 1983 cricket world cup, who was the then captain of the Indian team! His majestic innings of 175* bailed India out of a sure defeat in the hands of Zimbabwe in the league stage.
Then there is Virender Sehwag’s phenomenal innings of 219*, against the West Indies in Indore, which remained the highest individual score in ODIs before Rohit Sharma’s 264 overtook it last year. Interestingly, Sehwag was the skipper of the Indian team for that series.
