There were several reports linking the experienced goal keeper to a move to Arsenal since the player did not want to get out of London due to his family.

Having served Chelsea for 11 years, Cech was thrown to the bench by the arrival of young Belgian Thibaut Courtios. Jose Mourinho was not too keen to play Cech in important games but the Portuguese manager never wanted Cech to sign for a direct rivals.

Despite his stubbornness, Chelsea have cashed out on the 33-year old Goal keeper who incidentally will play his first official game for the Gunners against Chelsea in a community shield match.

Having completed his move to Arsenal, Cech was buyont and was raving about the next season. Cech said: “I’m really excited about joining Arsenal Football Club and can’t wait to join up for pre-season.

I have the same commitment to football, the same motivation and the same hunger for success as I had at the beginning of my career, and I love the challenges brought by the top quality players you face while playing in the Premier League.

A proven goal keeper was something Arsenal have been lacking for years and with Cech’s arrival, Arsene Wenger is hopeful of enjoying a successful campaign at Emirates for upcoming 3-4 seasons.
