Former India skipper MS Dhoni is known to be a livewire behind the stumps and always keeps his players animated with his constant chit-chat behind the stumps.
We have heard in the past that how his stump mic recordings created a buzz among his fans and we have enjoyed hearing what MS Dhoni tells his players. Dhoni might have given up captaincy almost a year ago but still, continues to be in charge of the field placements even when Virat Kohli is the captain of the team.
We have seen in the past that how Kohli always goes up to Dhoni for his advice and stated the fact that he would always remain their captain. Given the experience Dhoni had in leading the side, it is a huge plus for Kohli to get the inputs from him at the beginning of his limited-overs captaincy career. India eventually won the 2nd ODI at Pune by six wickets to level the series 1-1.

During New Zealand’s innings, Dhoni was constantly giving tips to the bowlers on where to bowl the deliveries. Kohli used Kedar Jadhav who didn’t bowl in the opening ODI and the latter despite not taking any wicket was economical and only conceded 31 in his eight overs. The stump mic recordings were pretty clear, and Dhoni was constantly asking Kedar to bowl in the right areas.
“Bohot Badiya Kedu, Aisi Dalte Reh” (Good bowling Kedu, continue bowling like this), Dhoni was telling Kedar.
He also asked Kohli to send two or three fielders in the inner ring. “Cheeku do tin jan ko idhar chod de”.
He continued encouraging Kedar, and when he bowled a fuller length delivery outside the off-stump, Dhoni said it was a good option to bowl that ball as a change every 3rd delivery.
“Ye ball acha hain uske lie beech beech main, har 3rd ball yeh dal sakta hein”, Dhoni said.

He also encouraged fielders in the rings like Dinesh Karthik and said “Bohot Badiya DK” was also heard from the stump mic.

Dhoni is expected to continue for the Men in Blue at least till the 2019 World Cup and remains one of the most important players in the team with his exceptional all-round abilities.
