Argetina fans will be delighted to know that La Albiceleste have moved up in the latest FIFA rankings to top position overtaking Germany and Belgium. In the last standings Gerardo Martino’s side were placed in the third position. Eventhough, they lost their Copa America final game against Chile on penalties, Argentina have managed to go to the pole position. Technically they have remained unbeaten in the tournament as losing on penalties will not considered as loss.

Among the surprise inductees, minnows Wales and Romania have moved up in rankings and are placed among the top 10 sides. They are now ahead of traditional powerhouses of football Spain (11th), Italy (17th) and France (22nd). Recently crowned champions of Copa America Chile (12th) have gone up by seven places.

Romania are having a great run of form in the recent times. They have remained unbeaten in their last six international matches winning four. Similarly Wales have also played fantatic football and remained unbeaten in last 6 games. They are at the top of their group and are almost through to the finals of Euro 2016.

Five times world champions Brazil have been demoted by one position and they are now placed at the 6th position. They had a terrible run in the Copa America. They were ousted from the quarter-finals. They lost two matches in the tournament.

ESPN journalist Dale Johnson tweeted about the latest standings.
