IND vs NZ 2017: Watch - Shikhar Dhawan Mistimes Tim Southee to Fall Cheaply 1
Shikhar Dhawan.

It has been a very intriguing couple of matches between India and New Zealand and with the 3rd and the final ODI in progress, the series is level at 1-1.

Courtesy brilliant knocks by Tom Latham and Ross Taylor, New Zealand, managed to ease past India in the opening ODI despite a sensational century by captain Virat Kohli on his 200th ODI. The Men in Blue bounced back strongly, and a brilliant all-around performance ensured a comfortable victory for the home team in the end. Riding on an excellent bowling spell by Bhuvneshwar Kumar of 3/45, India were able to restrict the Kiwis to 230. It wasn’t going to be a tough chase for India and on the back of half-centuries by Shikhar Dhawan, and Dinesh Karthik India won by six wickets to level the series 1-1.

The 3rd and the final ODI is already in progress, and after winning the toss, Kiwis skipper Kane Williamson has asked the hosts to bat first. Openers Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan began pretty well and struck some delightful shots. Dhawan, in particular, charged down the track and smashed Tim Southee for a beautiful cover drive.

Rohit also looked in a good knick and was looking to make amends after missing out in the first two encounters. Dhawan struck three gorgeous boundaries, but the greed got better of him, as he failed to time a short of length delivery from Southee and gave away a simple catch to Kane Williamson stationed at mid-off region.

The ball struck Dhawan in the upper portion of the bat, and hence he couldn’t generate any power. Captain Virat Kohli came out in the middle to join Rohit, and the duo started rebuilding the innings. Rohit Sharma has looked in ominous touch and has already completed his half-century.
