Reported Arsenal and PSG target Nabil Fekir has decided to extend his stay with the Ligue 1 side Lyon and turn down any big money move, which were waiting for him.
The extent of Fekir’s contract are still not being revealed to media but it has been confirmed by the club that, the 21-year old striker has agreed a long-term stay with the Les Gones.
The young French striker had a great breakthrough season last year where he scored 13 league goals and was the key figure along with Alexandre Lacazette in guiding Lyon’s title push till the end.
After the capture of young striker Lyon President Jean-Michel Aulas was buoyant mood and decided to have a go at their rivals PSG.
Aulas went on to say that, he could not see PSG buying Fekir or Lacazette at any price as they are not rich enough.
English media were linking Fekir very strongly with a move to Arsenal where the obvious connection of Arsene Wenger was a big factor.
The Frenchman has been known to scout young French players and develop them in to seasoned winners.
Nabil Fekir’s decision to stay at Satde De Gerland was helped by Lyon’s second place finish this season and a confirmed Champions League football next season. There were rumors stating that had Lyon not qualified for the Champions League, Fekir was well on his way to Arsenal.
