Zimbabwe announced their squad for home series against India, for 3 ODIs and 2 T20 matches, starting 10th July in Harare.
All-rounder Elton Chigumbura has been assigned the captaincy for the home team as they face a second string Indian team, led by Ajinkya Rahane.
The squad is as follows:
Elton Chigumbura(C), Chamu Chibhaba, Neville Madziva, Richmond Mutumbami(WK), Vusi Sibanda, Donald Tiripano, Brian Vittori, Sean Williams, Revis Chakabva, Graeme Cremer, Hamilton Masakadza, Tinashe Panyangara, Sikandar Raza, Prosper Utseya, Malcolm Waller
A number of regulars consisting the likes of Dhoni, Kohli, Dhawan, Rohit, Umesh has been rested and a list of players like Robin Uthappa, Manoj Tiwary, Murali Vijay, Harbhajan Singh, Kedar Jhadav are making a comecak to the Indian team. Uncapped Manish Pandey and Sandeep Sharma have been included in the tour.
Zimbabwe will be also missing the services of experienced players like Charles Covernty and Chris Ervine as they are not featuring in the series. Their previous captain Brendon Taylor has chosen to play for his county ahead of his country owing to financial gains.
