Paris Saint-Germain manager Laurent blanc has clearly stated that two of his star players Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Edinson Cavani will not be sold in this summer even if the club spends big to egt new players.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic is at the Paris club since 2012 and his contract will expire after the 2015/16 season. He was linked with a move to Italian Serie A giants AC Milan and Inter Milan.
But Laurent Blanc clearly stated that they will not sell their star forward this summer. He was quoted by Le Parisien: “For me, there have never been any doubts as to his presence in the team for 2015-16.
Other than Ibrahimovic, another star forward of PSG Edinson Cavani has been linked with several top clubs like Manchester United. Recent transfer rumours suggest that, the reigning Ligue 1 champions might rope in out of favour Manchester United midfielder Angel Di Maria. Manchester United now with Schweinsteiger and Schneiderlin’s inclusion have an array of quality midfielders in their ranks. This may stimulate the transfer of Di Maria to PSG.
Relating to that news many speculated that PSG might use Cavani in a swap deal to get Di Maria for a cheaper price. While Blanc showed interest in the Argentine midfielder, he pointed out that Cavani was an important asset to the team and in order to rebuild a solid squad he would need the Uruguayan’s services.
Blanc mentioned: “The wish to leave must correspond with the desires of the club. If we want a strong institution, it’s necessary for the club to be more important than the players who represent it.”
Edinson Cavani and Zlatan Ibrahimovic are the two main pillars upfront for PSG. Both the players have contributed a lot to PSG’s success. Now it seems unlikely that Blanc would let Cavani go.
