Switezerland international and ex-West Ham United midfielder has officially joined newly promoted Premier League side Watford FC. The 30-year-old midfielder who had previously plyed his trade in Serie A, Premier League and Bundelsiga have joined Hamburgers SV. Behrami joined Hamburger SV last season and played 22 games in the enitre season.
The Swiss internationa becomes Watford’s sixth signing following their promotion to the Premier League in this season. The club has already signed France midfielder Etienne Capoue who joined from Tottenham for a club record fee, striker Matej Vydra, defenders Jose Halebas Sebastiab Prodl and goalkeeper Giedrius Arlauskis.
The midfielder has played 59 international matches for Switzerland. He was anintegral part of Switzeland squad last season.
After joining the Premier League side, Behrami said to te club official website: “This is a great club and I know the way the owners work. They’ve made some great signings.
About his previous stint in the Premier League he opined: “I had good and bad experiences in the Premier League because I had a great season, but then I had a bad injury as well and that stays in my memory.
