West Ham United have confirmed the signing of Carl Jenkinson from Arsenal on a season-long loan. Jenkinson was a fans’ favorite last season after featuring in 35 league games.

Jenkinson is re-joining the hammers after signing a new 5-year deal with Arsenal. There were several offers for Jenkinson from Sunderland, Aston Villa and Southampton. Arsenal, however had no intentions of selling the young right-back and only West Ham were interested in signing Jenkinson on loan.

According to Sky Sports, West Ham will be paying £2million for Jenkinson’s services next season.

Jenkinson is set to become West Ham’s sixth summer signings following Dimitri Payet, Angelo Ogbona, Stephen Hendrie, Pedro Obiang and Darren Randolph.

New manager Slavan Bilic has an impressive squad to work with next season and with Croatian’s igh-energy management skills, Hammers supports are bracing themselves for a season to savor.

Earlier in the day, West Ham owner David Gold teased the fans with a possible signing news. Gold tweeted to his followers saying, “Important announcement later today”.

It is yet to be seen whether Jenkinson is the good news David Gold was talking about or Manchester United’s striker Javier Hernandez will be the next addition for the London based club.

According to Sky Sources, West Ham have offered £9million for Javier Hernandez who has been out of favor from his current manager Louis Van Gaal.
