Indian batsman Cheteshwar Pujara is set for a crucial test series against Sri Lanka from Thursday as the two sides are set to play the first test in iconic Eden Gardens.

However, before the game, India’s elite test match player and World No.4 test rank holder has taken his Twitter account to show his followers about breaking the beard.

November is known for “No Shave” as it has been a trend in the country over the past couple of years, despite most of the people not knowing what exactly the reason behind no shaving.

The 29-year old, who has warmed up in fine style for the Sri Lanka series through Ranji Trophy, has posted a video on his official twitter handle. The video has seen Pujara filming before the beard and after shaving his beard. The Saurashtra batsman has called to break the wall of ignorance this November.

His tweet read: “Breaking the wall of ignorance this No Same November. This month is not about letting it go but owning your mo. Think #MOThanABeard #newlook #breakthebeard #WednesdayWisdom”

Here is the video

Pujara has been an elite batsman in test cricket across the world and was in sensational form in the last home season. He broke various long-standing records during the 2016-17 season and had once again ensured that he is in right form by playing in Ranji Trophy.

He scored an impressive double hundred against Jharkhand last month and had also broken the record for most first-class double hundreds ever by an Indian batsman, going past Vijay Merchant.

He will be looking to continue his good run as the team are set to face tough tasks in the next 12 months abroad travelling to South Africa, New Zealand, England and potentially Australia.
