Indian players Jasprit Bumrah and Axar Patel have been added to the Gujarat squad for their next game against Rajasthan, to be played in Surat. Gujarat missed out on the services of these two players in the first four games of the season, due to India commitments of both the players. Now when both of them are not a part of team India in Test cricket, the state association called them up for the state duty.

Apart from them, RP Singh has also been named in the side. The left-arm pacer is yet to play any game this season and his addition, along with Bumrah and Axar, will surely be a big boost for the team. The pace duo will also help young pacer Sidharth Desai, who has bagged two Man of the Match awards in three Ranji games till now.

Gujarat team is currently placed in the second position in the points table with 20 points in the bag. A win in the next game will assure them a place in the next round.

Meanwhile, Priyank Panchal struck form in the last game as the opener scored his first century of the season, which came against Saurashtra at Rajkot. He played an innings of 145 against a star-studded side, but Gujarat fell short ahead of Saurashtra’s first innings score of 570, which also meant that Cheteshwar Pujara led side took away three points.

Though Gujarat missed a chance to qualify for the next round in the previous game, they would hope to get the job done in the penultimate league stage game.
