IND Vs SL 2017: Following the champion effort from India with the ball in the final session of the first Test on day five, the hosts would be brimming with confidence even after perishing in the first innings when inclement weather played the spoilsport for the first two days.
As the conditions changed session after another, India skipper Virat Kohli-led from the front to register his 18th Test hundred in 61st Test while admitting the fact the conditions were difficult on the Eden Gardens surface.
However, the ranked number one India showed the character in the second innings which further saw the top-order batsmen were brimming with confidence, after being among runs.

On the other side, Sri Lankan batting line-up was vulnerable, and in the spectacular fashion fast bowler, Bhuvneshwar Kumar has shown a quality improvement with the red-ball to break the back of the Islanders.
In first innings, India was bundled out for 172 in 59.3 overs, as Suranga Lakmal bowled superbly to claim four wickets in 19 overs.
Sri Lanka in the response posted 294 in 83.4 overs which saw Indian fast bowlers claimed all ten wickets. Bhuvneshwar Kumar was the pick of the bowlers with four wickets, as Mohammed Shami also claimed four scalps.
India in second innings declared on 352 for eight in 88.4 overs while riding on the century of Kohli followed by half-centuries from both the openers in the form of left-handed Shikhar Dhawan and right-handed KL Rahul.
Talking lot from the first game, India has been a dominant force in the longer version of the game, as the second Test is slated for November 24 in Nagpur.
