Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has dismissed reports linking him with a move away from Signal Eduna Park this summer. Aubameyang was speaking following Dortmund’s 2-0 win over Juventus where he highlighted how happy he is at the Bundesliga club.
Aubameyang said: “You can take it for granted that I am not going to waste any time thinking about giving up how happy I am at Borussia, in the city of Dortmund and with this team,”
“Dortmund have won the title twice in the last five years, we reached a Champions League final and had Real Madrid on the brink of elimination in the group stage when they went on to win it.
“If I didn’t believe that I could win titles with Dortmund, then I wouldn’t be here.”
With these comments, Arsenal can strike off another big name from their striker’s hit-list. Gunners have been targeting a marquee striker to partner Olivier Giroud up front. Apart from Aubameyang, Arsenal have been linked with Karim Benzema and Gonzalo Higuain as well.
Arsenal have started off the pre-season in the most impressive of manners after winning the Barclays Asia Cup and a thumping 6-0 win over Lyon in this year’s Emirates Cup. Next up, Gunners take on Wolfsburg in the second match of the Emirates Cup.
