Pakistan’s One day International captain Azhar Ali said that he is keen to see a revival of bilateral cricketing ties with India. Earlier test captain Misbah-ul-Haq also asked for revival of ties with India.

Despite the Indian cricketing officials ruling out any chances of bilateral series with Pakistan at the moment after the terrorist attack in Guradspur, Azhar Ali said it is every player’s dream to play with India.

“It would be good if Pakistan and India resume cricketing ties. We want to play because doing well against India is special.” he said. But he pointed that at the end of the day decision on cricket ties between two countries was not for players to make.

“It is in hands of cricketing authorities and governments. If we can have a series against India it would be great” he said.

The Pakistan cricket community has largely spoken in favor of having cricketing ties with India despite the tension at the government level after the Gurdaspur incident. It is difficult to say at the moment if India- Pakistan series would happen in December.

Another former PCB chairman Khalid Mahmood said it was unfortunate that cricket ties between India and Pakistan has always affected by politics.

The Indian government is blaming Pakistan for Gurdaspur incident but as far as cricket is concerned decisions are made at the last moment. It is sad to see India and Pakistan series not happening because of the tensions between these two countries.

Former captain Rashid Latif said keeping sports and politics apart but it is not the case but the reality is something.

Lets hope India and Pakistan cricketing ties resume soon.
