As if his sublime century in the first innings was not enough to make his comeback memorable, Murali Vijay took a stunning catch in the ongoing second Test against Sri Lanka to make more impact in the match.
Vijay was standing at the forward short-leg when a tossed up delivery from Ravindra Jadeja around the middle stump was hit firmly by Dimuth Karunaratne. The Sri Lanka opener had tried to drive the ball but ended up giving a thick edge. However, the ball would have still evaded the close-in fielders but it went straight to Vijay and the India opener, showing utmost bravery, did not duck down or tried to evade the ball as he remained firm and completed a stunning catch.

Earlier in the game, Vijay had played a fine knock of 128 to mark his arrival in style. The right-handed batsman was out of the team with an injury since March but got a chance in the playing eleven in the ongoing game and grabbed it with both the hands.

Meanwhile, coming to the game, Sri Lanka are looking destined to lose their sixth Test in the seven matches against India. The scoreboard was reading only 34 when Karunaratne, their leading Test run-scorer departed, with the team still needing 371 runs to avoid an innings defeat and make India bat again.
