The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has released the schedule of the quarter-finals of Ranji Trophy 2017/18.

From Group A, Vinay Kumar-led Karnataka have qualified for the next round along with Rishab Pant-led Delhi. From Group B, Parthiv Patel’s Gujarat and Sachin Baby’s Kerala have made it to the next round. From Group C, veteran player Devender Bundela-led Madhya Pradesh and Aditya Tare-led Mumbai are through while Faiz Fazal’s Vidarbha and Manoj Tiwary’s Bengal are the two teams from Group D.

 In the knockout stage, the defending champions, Gujarat, will face the Manoj Tiwary-led Bengal in Jaipur. In the second game, Delhi and Madhya Pradesh will take on each other at Vijayawada.

Kerala, who have made it to the quarter-finals for the first time, will take on Vidarbha in the third game of the last eight in Surat, whereas, the fourth game of this round will be played between Karnataka and Mumbai in Nagpur.

The game between Karnataka and Mumbai will be the marquee battle to watch out for, and it will also be a televised contest.

Vidarbha would want the likes of pacer Umesh Yadav in their squad, whereas, Karnataka would ask for the services of KL Rahul. They would lose out on the services of Manish Pandey for this round, as he has got selected in the India squad for the ODI series against Sri Lanka.

The third and the final Test between India and Sri  Lanka is scheduled to be played from December 2 to 6 while the quarter-finals will be played from December 7, so international stars can join their Ranji teams in case they are allowed by BCCI.

The quarter-finals of the Ranji Trophy will be the five-day affair. If a result is not computed out of the game, then the team gaining the first innings lead will march in the semi-final of the tournament.
