Manchester United star Ashley Young has agreed to sign a 3-year extension to his current contract at the club. ESPN are convinced that the England International has accepted club’s most recent £120k-a-week contract offer putting an end to all the transfer speculations.
Young had entered the last year of his contract and was increasingly getting worried that he might be forced out of the club given all the big-names Louis Van Gaal has been targeting all the big-names players like Pedro and Gareth Bale.
However, Young was van Gaal’s biggest success story last season as the winger found himself at home in Van Gaal’s 3-5-2 and the most recent 4-3-3 formation. Young’s form saw the £59.7million man Angel Di Maria sit on the bench during the last few weeks of his United career.
The news of Young agreeing a new 3-year deal with the club must come as a huge boost to United’s chances of having a good 2015/16 season as the winger is one of the few players who has completely got accustomed to Van Gaal’s philosophies and tactics.
Young will look to kick off the new season against Tottenham, the club were linked with a move for the England International. For now Young looks to have a guaranteed place in the United’s starting XI against Spurs.
