Liverpool have made an embarrassing mistake by spelling new keeper Hungarian international Adam Bogdan’s name wrong as part of their online advertising for the team’s new kits.

The promotional graphic, which has since been corrected, celebrated a line-up of club shirts showing the Reds’ major summer signings – Joe Gomez, Danny Ings, Roberto Firmino, Christian Benteke, James Milner, Nathaniel Clyne and Adam Bogdan.

However, the Hungarian keeper’s name was initially misspelt as ‘Bogden’, an error that was soon picked up by the club’s supporters on Monday night.

Horrible mistake by Liverpool, this is embarrassing 1

The former Bolton No 1 arrived at Anfield on a free transfer this summer where he will compete with Belgium international Simon Mignolet for the role under the bar, although the 27-year-old is determined to make the most of the opportunity.

In his first interview, speaking to Liverpool’s official website, he said: ‘I would like to take this opportunity and play as many games as I possibly can, and be a No.1 ‘keeper for Liverpool.’

‘How do I do that? I have to do it on the training ground first of all, I have to prove myself and prove to the manager that I’m able to do that. Then when I get the chance, I have to take it and play well. That’s how it works.’

Bogdan also hopes to make a good working relationship with first choice keeper Mignolet at Anfield, despite the pair of them competing for the same position.

‘I know him as a keeper, I’ve been watching him and we are a very similar age. I respect him as a keeper. I haven’t had a chance to meet him yet, but I’m sure we’re going to get along very well and we’re going to have a good relationship.

‘We’re going to compete, of course, that’s the nature of this position and the sport. But I’m sure we’re going to help each other as well; I have always been very close to the keepers I have worked with. It’s going to be a big challenge but at the same time we are going to help each other as well.’
