Sri Lanka announces team for Test series against India

Sri Lanka Cricket, the governing body of Sri Lanka, announces its 16 members squad for three match Test series aganist India. Currently India is playing one three day warm up match in Colombo. The first official Test of the tour will start on August 12, at Galle

Navin Dissanayake, Minister of Sports and Tourism, has declared the squad after a meeting of the Selection Committee.

At a meeting of the Selection Committee held on the 7th of August 2015, the following squad of 16 was selected for the above series.

The series will last for Kumar Sangakkara as he announced that he would retire from the all form of the game after playing three match Test series against India.

Lahiru Thirimanna is named as vice captain, besides this there is no surprise in the team as same squad of Pakistan series is kept for the three match Test series against India.

Sri Lanka will play India since their 2-1 series loss to Pakistan last month.
