Manchester United have revealed their official squad numbers for the 2015/16 Premier League season. One of the most anticipated announcements, the Red Devils have given the Number 7 jersey to their recent summer signing Memphis Depay.

United were left in an uncomfortable situation after Angel Di Maria decided to quit the club after just 11 months at the club. Following Di Maria’s sale, number 7 jersey was left vacant and was waiting for a worthy candidate.

It has been reported that Depay made a personal request to manager Louis Van Gaal to hand him the number 7 Jersey and his wish has come true.

Other noticeable numbers are for Bastian Schweinsteiger, who has taken over the number 31 jersey from Marouane Fellaini. Fellow summer signings Morgan Schneiderlin has picked number 28 jersey while Matteo Darmian has stuck to his preferred number 36 jersey.

Among the current crop, Luke Shaw has changed from 3 to 23 and James Wilson has been given the Number 19 after he played last season with Number 49 on his back.
