Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko has arrived in Italy to complete his £14million transfer to AS Roma after the clubs eventually agreed on a transfer fee.

Dzeko has been seeking a move away from Etihaad Stadium after he was not given enough chances since Manuel Pellegrini’s arrival.

Dzeko has been a very successful striker for the Citizens scoring more than 70 league goals in over appearances. Despite Aguero being the leading goal scorer, Dzeko has been quietly City’s savior over the seasons.

AS Roma have been re-building a strong team this season where they have already signed Mohamed Salah from Chelsea and now signing Dzeko makes them a firm favorite for the Scudeto title in 2015-16 season.

Prior to his move Serie A, Dzeko was a shock target for Arsenal which did not go through because of Arsene Wenger’s wish of signing the Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema.

Dzeko’s departure leaves City in a very tight situation with two injury-prone strikers in Sergio Aguero and Wilfrid Bony at the club. Recently, Aguero was sent home from City’s training camp due to illness and striker’s participation in the opening game of the season is still a mystery.

Edin Dzeko has left Manchester City and perhaps, City will realize his true worth now as at the moment, there isn’t a striker in City’s lineup who can offer them what Dzeko gave them in his 5-year stay with the club.
