The young India team was at their best playing most of their cricket at home conditions and won almost everything. For their consistency throughout the year, four Indian batsmen feature in the list of top ten batsmen who scored most fifties in this ongoing calendar year namely Ajinkya Rahane, skipper Virat Kohli, Shikhar Dhawan, and MS Dhoni.

The chart is surprisingly headed by Ajinkya Rahane with seven fifties from 12 matches, a great statistics beside his name although he is not a regular member of the limited-overs squad. England’s Joe Root and South Africa’s Quinton De Kock occupies the second and third spot with an equal number of half-centuries, but Kock played one more game than Root to be on the third place, followed by India’s Virat Kohli who took 26 matches to register seven half-centuries besides his name.

Englishmen Jason Roy founds him on the fifth spot with six fifties from 16 matches followed New Zealand’s Ross Taylor and South Africa’s Faf Du Plessis, who achieved the same feat but in 17 and 19 matches respectively.

The eighth and ninth spot is reserved by two senior cricketers from India in the form of Shikhar Dhawan and MS Dhoni who scored six fifties each in 21 and 28 matches respectively. Dhawan and Dhoni have been crucial in India’s dominance in the world cricket and has scored runs on a consistent basis.
