Patna Pirates defeated defending champions Jaipur Pink in the first match of the day at Pune just few moments ago. It was a good performance by Patna who played well in attack and also defense which proved the final difference between these two teams.
Today’s match between JPP & PP is practically a quarter final, being the last round robin match and each of them stand to gain an entry into,Semifinal as the fourth team as three other positioned are almost blocked by UM, TT and BB. Both the teams will put their best effort and spectators will look forward for a very interesting contest.
Sandeep Narwal a started the raid for Patna and Sonu Narwal for Jaipur Pink Panther both had empty raids. Gurvinder touched Pravin and earned first point. In do or die raid Kuldeep was tackled very well to lead 2-0. Sandeep Narwal in do or die raid was tackled in a group as went deep in. Jasvir Singh also had an empty raid followed by similar a unsuccessful raid by Gurvinder. In do or die raid Sonu Narwal was declared out for which referral was by JPP asked a video review for a bonus point and it went in favor of Jasvir Jaipur Pink Panthers equaling the score 2-2 and Jasvir arranged third point for Jaipur to take them in lead but for very short time as Gurvidner also earned a point to take the score to 4-3. Rajesh Narwal was tackled well and scored was equaled at 4 all in 9th minute.
Sonu Narwal earned a bonus point. Eom with great speed failed the tackle and earned 2 points in his first raid. Sonu Narwal was tackled in his next raid and thus Patna leaving only 2 players and an opportunity for all out. One player was tackled and another surrendered and Jaipur Pink Panther got all out for the first time in the day taking the to a lead of 11-5. After revival Rajesh Narwal earned a touch point and Gurvinder had an empty raid. Sonu Narwal was tackled as entire group pounced on him. In a do or die raid Deepak Narwal was pushed out by Kuldeep and both teams got one point each. Gurvinder had his fifth raid also empty with jst one successful raid.
Kuldeep in do or die raid was thrown out of court physically lifting him. next Gurvinder earned 2 touch point going under tackling effort of two players extended arms taking the score to 16-8. Jasvir Singh escaped from Hooda’s tackle and earned their 9th point. At half time Patna led 16-9. Patna had earned 6 points each from touch and tackling as against half of that by Jaipur team. They also has earned all out bonus points.
First raid in second half from Jasvir went empty but Rajesh Narwal earned 2 touch points. Rajesh earned bonus point second time successively to take their score to 11. Eom’s referral for touching Kuldeep was successful taking PP,score to 19. Sandeep Narwal had empty raid. Ran Singh had successful raid of Gurvinder. Jasvir and Rajesh Narwal were tackled in successive raid again taking PP to 21st point. Eom on do or die raid was super tackled holding the ankle by Kuldeep to take their score to 15.
Patna asked for a referral for a touch was unsuccessful. Sonu Narwal earned a bonus point. I. Donor die raid Deepak Narwal,was tackled having went in deep. Gurvinder had an empty raid. Prashant Chowhan was tackled holding both legs by Hooda. Sandeep Narwal had an empty raid followed by Sonu Narwal’s successful tackle. Deepak Narwal super tackled reducing the gap to 4 points only. Jasvir Singh got their 20th point in an excellent raid. Patna asked for a time out with score standing at 23-20 five minutes before the final whistle.
Rajesh and Jadvir for JPP and Gurvinder for PP in the raids after time out had empty raids. Gurvinder I do or die raid was tackled as per nice plan. Jasvir was also tackled Patna Pirates maintaining their lead of 3 points. Jaiput took another time out. Rajesh Narwal after touching a player was pushed out of court taking Patna to 25-21. Kuldeep was also thrown out of lobby. Jaipur earned 2 points followed by Sonu earning a point but Patna managed won the match by 26-24.
The semi finals will be played on 21st August as U Mumba will face Patna and Telegu Titans will face Bengalru Bulls
