West Ham United continue to add quality in their ranks, this time the talks of a permanent deal for Barcelona’s midfield star Alex Song have moved to advanced stage with only medical pending in the deal to be announced officially.
According to Sky Sports, Song is set for West Ham medical in next 24 hours after the clubs agreed on a £6million transfer fee.
West Ham owner David Sullivan has confirmed the transfer himself with claims of deal being in place. Speaking on the social media, Sullivan said: “We have a deal in place with Alex Song subject to a medical. If the medical is OK, we’ll take him.”
This very much has confirmed West Ham’s capture of the former Arsenal man who made a great impact last season for the Hammers. Wes Ham have been tipped as one of the teams to watch this season with quality additions like Dimitri Payet, Angelo Ogbonna and Mauro Zarate now with Song in their ranks, their midfield would be more assured and would form a solid base for them to launch their attacks.
New manager Slaven Bilic has already experienced the ups and downs of the Premier League with one win and a loss in their two opening games. Win at the Emirates was close to being a perfect game by them while the same team suffered a shock 2-1 home defeat against Leicester City.
Signing Song would perhaps cut out these shock results for Bilic and would help the entire West Ham team to have an even more solid season this time around.
