Arsenal have sent their 18-year-old talented midfielder Gedion Zelalem on loan to Scottish Championship side Rangers FC, according to Scottish media.
The youngster was promoted from Arsenal’s youth team last season but remained out of favour for most of the season due to the presence of several quality names in their ranks.
Zelalem is regarded as one of the most promising talents in the world and in order to give him proper game time he is being sent to Rangers FC.
The young midfielder who is pre-dominantly a number 10 has represented USA U20 at the international arena. Hehad previously played for German youth teams.
Speaking about procuring the service of the player Rangers manager Mark Warburton said: “He’s an extremely talented ball player who sees a pass, is very creative and one of the young gems at Arsenal.
“He’s a No.8 or a 10, slight in frame but very clever.”
Gedion Zelalem becomes the third loan signing of Rangers in the past couple of weeks after Tottenham duo Nathan Oduwa and Dominic Ball signed on the dotted line ahead of last weekend’s match with Alloa.
The midfielder has already joined the club and will attend Rangers’ clash with Hibs on Sunday at Ibrox.
