Australia allrounder has decided to skip the upcoming Indian Premier League and instead play for Sussex in England to enhance his Test career. The 26-year old, who missed the last edition of the tournament due to an injury, was signed for $1 million (INR. 4.8 crore) by Rising Pune Supergiant in last year’s auction.

“It was a fairly big decision from a money point of view, but my ultimate goal is to play Test match cricket for Australia,” Marsh told reporters in Sydney on Monday (January 1).

Shiv Kapur, on Sunday (December 31), bounced back in style in the closing stages to win the Royal Cup and end the year with three Asian Tour titles. Before the three titles this year, Kapur had managed to win just one title in almost 11 years. After seeing his two-shot lead had turned into a two-shot deficit, Kapur shot four-under 67 to finish at 14-under, while Thailand’s Prom Meesawat (70) ended at 13-under.

Ederson preserved City’s unbeaten run by saving a penalty late in the game.

Runaway leaders Manchester City’s record 18-game-winning run in the Premier League ended with a 0-0 draw at Crystal Palace on Sunday, leaving the leaders 14 points clear heading into the new year.  It could have been much worse for Pep Guardiola’s men, but Ederson saved them the blushes by saving a penalty from Luka Milivojevic in injury time to preserve City’s unbeaten run after 21 games.

In other game of the night, Arsenal’s top-four hopes were dealt a huge blow after a dramatic 1-1 draw with West Brom. The Gunners were looking destined to grab all three points after Alexis Sanchez’s 83rd-minute free-kick found the back of the net via a big deflection off James McClean in the wall. But, with a minute of normal time remaining, Calum Chambers was judged to have handled the ball in the box. Jay Rodriguez fired the resulting spot-kick past Petr Cech to earn his side a precious point.
