The biggest rumour at present in the transfer market is Neymar linked with a move to Premier League giants Manchester United for a world record transfer fee.

British media outlet The Sun had broke the news last week that Manchester United are all set to bid a world record fee for the 23-year-old Brazilian star who had joined Barcelona in 2013. The speculations further stimulated when Neymar’s international agent Pini Zahavi was spotted at Old Trafford on Saturday during United’s Premier League clash against Newcastle United.

But, Barcelona club President Josep Bartomeu clarified yesterday that they have no plans of selling one of their superstars to any of their European rivals. Neymar was an integral part of the Barcelona squad which had won treble last season.

Speaking to Spanish Radio Station Club Mitjanit, Bartomeu said: “We do not want Neymar to leave. He is young and we want him to retire here at our club.

“We will discuss Neymar’s renewal in some months’ time as he must stay here – not only for the next three seasons but for the next five or 10.”

Neymar had scored 39 goals for the Catalonian giants last season in all competitions and had also netted the winning goal against Juventus in the UEFA Champions League final.

It will be interesting to see if Neymar actually extends his contract with the club or actually moves out of the club this summer to join Manchester United.
