South Africa vs. India, First Test, Newlands, Cape Town

South Africa took a 1-0 lead in the three-match Test series after winning the first Test by 27 runs at Newlands in Cape Town. Day four of the first Test between South Africa and India belonged to the fast bowlers as 18 wickets fell in the day. After the third day of the match was washed out due to rain, Hashim Amla and Kagiso Rabada began day four at 65/2. India took eight wickets for 65 runs in the first session of the day as the hosts were bowled out for 130 in the second innings. India were set a target of 208 in the fourth innings. The Indian batsmen were bowled out for a mere 135 in the second innings with Ravichandran Ashwin being the top scorer with 37 runs. Vernon Philander was adjudged the man of the match as he picked up six for 42 in the second innings.

New Zealand vs. Pakistan, Second ODI, Nelson

New Zealand took a 2-0 lead in the five-match ODI series against Pakistan as they won the second rain-affected match by eight wickets with seven balls remaining. Pakistan won the toss and chose to bat first. Mohammed Hafeez, Shadab Khan, and Hasan Ali scored well-made half-centuries with Hafeez being the top scorer with 60. Pakistan finished with 246/9 on board. Lockie Ferguson was the pick of the bowlers, picking up three wickets for 39 runs. New Zealand was 64/2 in 14 overs when rain stopped play. The target was then reduced to 151 in 25 overs which the hosts achieved in 23.5 overs with Martin Guptill scoring 86 off 71 deliveries. Mohammed Amir and Faheem Ashraf picked up one wicket each. Guptill was adjudged the man of the match.

Rafael Nadal Returns to Action

Rafael Nadal played his second match in three months after making a return to the court in Kooyong Classic. However, the world number one lost to the veteran Richard Gasquet 6-4, 7-5 in their exhibition match in Melbourne.
