Brendan Taylor found sleeping in a random car 1

Former Zimbabwe captain Brendan Taylor, in a comical turn of events was found fast asleep in the back seat of a randomly unlocked car in Nottingham. Taylor, who currently plays for Nottinghamshire in the English domestic circuit, partied along with his teammates as Nottinghamshire advanced to the semi-finals of the Royal London One-Day Cup. Taylor played a key role in Nottinghamshire’s quarter-final victory at Trent Bridge.

After partying till late at night, Taylor reportedly forgot the way back to his home and took refuge in an unlocked car.  It was only at 8:50 AM on Wednesday morning when the police wokeup Taylor.

The car’s owner was quoted saying, “An officer tried to wake him up and when he came round, he was dazed.” “It was the most bizarre situation I think I have ever been in.” “Neither myself, the police or Brendan knew what to do. “I don’t think he knew where he was but he was very apologetic and it quickly became clear that it was very innocent. “Realising who it was made it even funnier because how often do you find an international cricket star asleep in your car?” “We just see the funny side of this now. It was one of the best excuses to be late for work ever.”

A spokesman for Nottinghamshire Police said: “We attended the scene but concluded that no offence had been committed. The man in the car was extremely apologetic and even offered to get the car valeted.”
