Manchester United’s key target Neymar has snubbed the transfer rumours which were linking him with a move to the Premier League club this summer.
Neymar who had joined Barcelona in 2013 have become an intergral part of the attacking trio at Catalan giants. Along sie Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez, he has won the treble last season last season. So it came as a shocker that he would leave the club at such a stage and just after two seasons.
Speaking to TV3, Neymar said: “The people from Barca can be calm.
“When I hear things like this, I don’t think anything. I just heard it and I am calm. I am very happy at Barca and with my colleagues.
“We can have a great season. I don’t know if we can make as many goals but we are going to try to”, Neymar continued of Barca’s South American forward line.
“We want titles for our team.”
Neymar thus, clearly clarifies that he would not leave a club which he loves so much and has assured the Barcelona fans that they should stay calm regarding this news as it is absolutely false.
Manchester United who have signed 5 players this summer are still looking forward to signing a quality striker upfront to bolster their squad. They have signed 3 mifielders, 1 defender and 1 goalkeeper so far.
Their start to the season was impressive even though their performance was far from convincing. Club captain Wayne Rooney has been vulnerable upfront and it seems that the number 10 role suits the English forward bes. The Red Devils missed out on signing several big names like Sergio Ramos who extended his stay at Real Madrid.
They were also in pursuit of Nicolas Otamendi and Pedro Rodriguez, but both the deals were hijacked by league rivals Manchester City and Chelsea respectively.
