Sri Lankan coach Marvan Atapattu resigns
Following the two consecutive Test series debacle at home against Pakistan and India head coach of Sri Lankan team on Thursday stepped down from his position.
His resignation was confirmed by the Sri Lankan cricket board through their official Twitter account. Angelo Mathews led Sri Lankan team are going through the transition phase since their experienced cricketer Tillakaratne Dilshan, Mahela Jayawardene and Kumar Sangakkara took retirement from the game.
Marvan Atapattu has tendered his resignation letter from the post of Head Coach of Sri Lanka Cricket Team which has been accepted by SLC.

After winning the first Test from a losing position in Galle, Sri Lankan failed in the last two Tests as Virat Kohli lead India clinched the series 2-1 breaking the 22 old jinx. Marvan, the former captain who played 90 Tests and 268 ODIs for Sri Lankan announced his retirement after playing 17 years of illustrative career. He has 5502 Test runs and 8529 ODI runs.
