Abinash Ruidas, the lanky 22-year old footballer of East Bengal has been a new kid on the block after having scored the 40-yard stunner against Kalighat MS in the Kolkata Premier League on Wednesday. The footballer has donned red-and-gold-shirts in the last year. He revealed on Thursday that he had learnt shooting long range shots since his childhood when he started playing football at his local Budge Budge Football Academy under the observation of coach Chinmoy Chakrabarty. Ruidas has been a resident of Budge Budge, a suburb in The South 24 Parganas and around three-hour journey from Kolkata via train. Ruidas said, “In my childhood academy Chinmoy sir taught me about the position of the non-kicking foot while taking the long rangers. Even he asked me to do special training to gain leg power and he always used to teach me how my neck should be straight in the 90 degrees when I am going to hit any long range.”
Incidentally, East Bengal’s new sensation Korean midfielder Do Dong Hyun has been overwhelmed by Ruidas goal. The Korean midfielder who had gone to a shopping mall on the outskirts of Kolkata on Thursday said. “Ruidas scored the wonder goal in such a manner that he showed his technique was perfect. And I also have watched that Ruidas often trains shooting long range shots even after the everyday training gets over. He is a bright prospect. And I feel if he can develop his muscles Ruidas can even go for trials in any South East Asian country club. He has that potential.”
Do Dong also has expressed a desire to go to Ruidas house and to talk to his cobbler father Shyam Ruidas.
