India won the toss and chose to bat first in the third and final Test at the Wanderers in Johannesburg. Ajinkya Rahane has been finally included in the playing XI instead of Rohit Sharma. Another change made to the playing XI was the exclusion of the spinner Ravichandran Ashwin who has been replaced by Bhuvneshwar Kumar. India lost two early wickets in the form of KL Rahul and Murali Vijay at 0 and 8 respectively. Kagiso Rabada picked up the wicket of Vijay, and Vernon Philander dismissed KL Rahul. India was 45/2 going into the lunch break.

Roger Federer reached another Grand Slam semi-final after defeating Tomas Berdych in straight sets to set up a clash with the Korean H. Chung. Federer won the match 7-6, 6-3, 6-4.

Bristol City vs Manchester City
Manchester City reached the final of the EFL Cup beating Bristol City 5-3 on aggregate and winning the second leg 3-2. City took a 2-0 lead in the 49th minute, but Bristol equalised in the 94ht minute. Kevin De Bruyne then scored the winner in the 96th minute of the match.
