India continued their dominating performance by beating Singapore in their second match of the 7th Junior Hockey Asia Cup played at China just few minutes ago. It was another dominating performance by India who trashed lowly Singapore 12-0.
In the first half, the Indian team started to attack from the first minute while Singapore tried to keeping possession but the Indians with their experience went with on the attack piercing through their defense. The Indian team kept pressing for goals but earned a penalty corner early in the match. But Jaspreet Kaur hit the ball wide off the post. A series of attack continued and Punam Barla broke the shackles in the 6th minute of the match to give India 1-0 lead. Singapore tried to score their first goal but composed Indian defense denied them any chance to open their account.
In the 10th minute, Indian captain Rani Rampal pushed a cross towards Anupa Balra to give India 2-0 lead. India kept attacking and scored the third goal in 15th minute when Preeti Dubey found the net. In the 25th minute India got another penalty corner and Jaspreet converted the penalty corner into the goal to give India a commanding 4-0 lead. The Indian team led 4-0 at the half time.
After the break, the Indians continued their domination. Lily scored from penalty corner in 49th minute to give India 5-0 lead. The Singapore defense as India managed to score at regular intervals. India scored in 52nd minute, 59th, 61st, 64,65th, 68th and 70th minute to give India a commanding 12-0 win.
India had 2 easy wins in the tournament so far and their next match will be against China on September 9.
