If Indian cricketers were Harry Potter series characters: through eyes of an Indian born in 90’s
Our surrounding events play a vital role in our growing up. The series we follow, the sports persons we idolize, the actors we admire contribute hugely in building our memories and moments. For most of the Indians born in 90’s, there were these two things that ruled our childhood till we stepped into teenage: Cricket and Harry Potter. Though both creations are timeless, these run like a craziness through our veins like no one else.
What if both these things could be brought together. If, for a change, Indian cricketers could step into the roles of the famous magical saga? Who would have played which role? Let’s find out.
1) Harry Potter : Sourav Ganguly

Humble off the field, aggressive and immensely passionate while in the game- Sourav ‘Dada’ Ganguly along with his spectacles has to be the perfect choice for the role of the wizarding world’s role model. Just like Harry banished all the evil created by the ‘Dark Lord’, Dada also stood strong during tough times and led his men for the betterment of the game in the country. And well, let’s admit it, Indian cricket is incomplete without Dada, just like Harry Potter is incomplete without Harry Potter.
2) Hermione Granger : Rahul Dravid

Who else remembers this advertisement where Jammy plays a girl just to get a bit of jam to lick? If not anything else, it promptly suggests how he could have done justice to play the all learned genius witch. Both are technical, very much abled in their zone and admired for their immense talent and knowledge. Do you really think Harry could have defeated Voldemort without the help from the one-who-knows-all-the-spells-correctly? Never !
Ronald Weasley: Sachin Tendulkar

Harry and Ron, a friendship beyond everything. They share the room, they share their lives. And talking about friendship, there is one name that is linked as the best friend with Sourav Ganguly- Sachin Tendulkar. That lethal opening partnership, those amazing moments and that emotional goodbye letter- who else could actually fit this accurately you think?
Neville Longbottom: Yuvraj Singh

Another friend, who served selflessly during the great battle was Neville Longbottom. He loved Harry very much and admired him for his courage and bravery, just like the ardent Dada follower in the team Yuvraj Singh. From playing pranks with Dada to standing by during his bad phase- Yuvraj has done it all to claim the role of innocent Neville Longbottom.
Prof. Dumbledor : Jagmohan Dalmiya
.jpg)
Since his early cricketing days palying for Bengal, the one name from authority that is said to be with Sourav Ganguly is Jagmohan Dalmiya. Just like in times of need Harry found Professor Dumbledore’s experienced hand always to help, Dalmiya sir is known play that Godfather behind Sourav Ganguly’s rise and for the right reasons. He also looks good as professor, doesn’t he?
The villains
Draco Malfoy : Steve Waugh

The great rivalry – Gryffindor vs Slythering
The ones who carried it forward – Harry and Draco
The great rivalry- Indian cricket team vs Cricket Australia
The ones who carried it forward- Sourav and Steve Waugh
Need we say more?
But just like Draco could really not do any real harm to Harry, Steve Waugh and Sourav Ganguly also kept their rivalries in the game of cricket only. Gestures of gentlemen, should we say?
Lord Voldemort : Greg Chappell

Does it actually need any explaination really? Just behold a dark lord, with the nose this time !
