Australia Star Chris Lynn Suffer Shoulder Injury Again 1

Australia star Chris Lynn’s wretched run of injuries continued during the tri-series final at Auckland. The hard-hitting batsman suffered a dislocated right shoulder during the game on Wednesday (February 21). The mishap happened when Lynn dived in the field during New Zealand’s innings.

The 27-year old was trying to intercept a clip through mid-wicket from Ross Taylor. He made a sprint to his left and reached for the ball with his right arm, in an apparent attempt to protect his troublesome left shoulder. The Australian has already undergone three bouts of surgery in recent seasons.

Meanwhile, while attempting to stop the ball, Lynn appeared to jar his right arm on the turf. Cricket Australia later confirmed that the batman had popped the shoulder out of its socket. He did not take part in the game thereafter and was sent for a scan.

Lynn had previously said he would avoid diving in the field in a bid to prevent any further shoulder problems.

“It’s something that’s played on my mind for about four years,” he had said. “Let’s go one step at a time – I want to dive, there’s no doubt about that, I want to do well and contribute.

“But at the moment, I don’t want to have another setback because I feel like I’m making good ground,” he had added.

IPL edging closer:

Meanwhile, Kolkata Knight Riders would be desperately hoping that the player gets fit in time for the IPL. Last year too, Lynn had missed a major part of the season with a shoulder injury.

And although the franchise did not miss him much, they are set to rely on him a lot this season. Reports are also suggesting that the Australian is in line to lead the team this year following the departure of Gautam Gambhir.
