Ranji Trophy is one of the best and prestigious domestic tournaments in India. From the 1st October 2015 many players have shifted their state teams due to various reasons. This will be a great opportunity for the players who have moved to another state this season to showcase their talent. Here we look at the 5 cricketers who have shifted their teams in Ranji Trophy 2015/2016 season.

  1.        Wasim Jaffer

Wasim Jaffer is leading run-scorer in Ranji Trophy. He is one of veteran batsman forgettable seasons in first class cricket. He will move to Vidarbha from Mumbai this season. He left Mumbai after 19 seasons. Several teams had approached Jaffer after his international retirement, but he remained attached with Mumbai. He will link up with former team-mate Paras Mhambrey who took the coaching role in Vidarbha last season. Jaffer is 241 runs short of becoming the first batsman to score 10,000 runs in Ranji Trophy. Mumbai will miss his service a lot in the coming season.

  1.        Virender Sehwag

Virender Sehwag will move to Haryana from Delhi in the 2015/2016 season. The former Indian batsmen changed the way openers changed their approach in test matches that he will leave Delhi after 17 seasons. He made his first-class debut for Delhi in 1998. He left Delhi team because of problems with DDCA in the past and in August he finally decided to move on. In the last year he scored he made 586 runs with an average of almost 52. His contribution helped them to reach the quarter-finals of 2014/2015 season.   

  1.        Pragyan Ojha

Pragyan Ojha a left arm spin bowler will move to Bengal from Hyderabad in the 2015/2016 season in hopes of reviving his international career. Ojha took the decision of moving his state’s side because Hyderabad failed to make the knockouts round last season and scrapped the barrel of their Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy group. He has been playing for Hyderabad for the last 16-17 years at various levels. Moving to Bengal was due because of playing in a higher division which Bengal has playing for many years. Last year Ojha picked less wickets and his team did not reach the knockout rounds.  

  1.        RP Singh

RP Singh the left arm fast bowler will move from Uttar Pradesh to Gujarat in the upcoming Ranji Trophy 2015/2016 season. He was a part of the Indian team which won the first World T20 World in 2007. He will no longer represent his state. He will play with their former internationals in Venugopal Rao and Ramesh Powar brings an end to the association with Uttar Pradesh. He made first class debut for Uttar Pradesh in 2003. He has taken 205 wickets for UP in all formats. He will be missed by the Uttar Pradesh team. In the last season he took 34 wickets in six matches but could not progress to the quarterfinals stage.

  1.        Mithun Manhas

In the 2015/2016 season of Ranji Trophy, Mithun Manhas will move from Delhi to Jammu and Kashmir. He has decided to move to Jammu and Kashmir to give youngsters a chance in the Delhi team. He took the decision in August after careful consideration. He wants to pass on his cricketing experience and nurture a new bunch of players, the chance has come with Jammu and Kashmir. He has 9,071 runs in 147 matches at an average of 45.81. Manhas is 80 runs away shy of becoming the fourth cricketer to score 8,000 runs in Ranji Trophy. In the last season for Delhi, Mithun Manhas did well for the team and helped them reach the quarterfinals. With Manhas in Jammu and Kashmir this season, they can benefit from his experience.
