India vs Bangladesh

Indian registered their first win in the Nidahas Trophy as they defeated Bangladesh at the R. Premadasa Stadium. India won the toss and chose to field first. Bangladesh scored 139/8n in the 20 overs allotted to them.  Liton Das was the top scorer for Bangladesh as he scored 34. Sabbir Rahman also played a handy innings of 30 in the lower middle order and helped his team reach a respectable total of 139. Jaydev Unadkat was the pick of the bowlers for India as he picked up three wickets in his four overs. Vijay Shankar also picked up two wickets. Yuzvendra Chahal and Shardul Thakur picked up one wicket each.

Shikhar Dhawan scored his second consecutive T20I half as he guided India to a comfortable victory by six wickets with nine balls remaining. Suresh Raina and Manish Pandey played handy innings of 28 and 27 runs respectively.

South Africa vs Australia, 2nd Test, Port Elizabeth

Australia won the toss and chose to bat first in the second Test against South Africa at St. Georges Park in Port Elizabeth. Australia already leads the four match ODI series 1-0. South Africa made one change to their playing XI. Lungi Ngidi replaced Morne Morkel. The tourists lost just one wicket in the form of Cameron Bancroft just at the stroke of lunch. David Warner who was surrounded with controversy before the start of the Test completed another half century. Australia were 98/1 at lunch.

Serena Williams won her first match on comeback at the BNP Paribas Open after a 14-month layoff for the birth of her first child. The 23-time major winner defeated Zarina Diyas of Kazakhstan 7-5, 6-3 in the first round.
