Legendary pacer from South Africa, Dale Steyn has expressed his disgust after the airport staff booed and heckled former Australian skipper Steven Smith. Meanwhile, Smith was way back to his country after Cricket Australia slapped a ban on him.

CA handed a 12-month ban to Smith and David Warner while Cameron Bancroft got 9 months ban. Also, CA debarred Warner from holding the captain’s role forever, while the other two will not hold the position for the next two years.

The whole cricketing fraternity had different opinions regarding the severity of the fans. Meanwhile, Steyn was quite vocal since the cameraman caught Bancroft of cheating.

This incident even made the Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull speak up and called it a disgraceful day in their country’s history.

Steyn seemed quite shocked by the severity of punishment sanctioned by CA. The pacer admitted that the bans were heavy for the cricketer. Along with it, he expressed his disgust at the behaviour meted out to Smith at the airport.

Many former cricketers came in support of Smith suggesting Smith was no criminal to be treated that way.

YOH those bans are heavy. It’s just, well, it’s, WOW. That’s life changing stuff. That shit at the airport looked totally unnecessary though,” Steyn tweeted.

Meanwhile, to everybody’s shock Australia’s head coach Darren Lehmann decided to step down. He will resign after this series in the wake of the recent scandal.
