Star Australian pacer Mitchell Starc will miss this edition of Indian Premier League with an injury. Also, he didn’t feature for the Aussies in the fourth and final Test against South Africa.

Starc suffered a tibial bone stress injury and will travel back home after the end of the series for the further assessment.

Meanwhile, this will come as a huge blow for Kolkata Knight Riders, who bought Starc for a whopping Rs 9.4 crore. KKR has only 19 players in their squad and cannot afford to lose a player of Starc’s calibre.

KKR will now have to find someone close to Starc’s ability to replace him as IPL comes closer.

The Kolkata franchise is already by the injuries of overseas players Chris Lynn and Andre Russell. Although they have started training, however, is yet to regain full fitness.

Further, they need to be careful about Sunil Narine’s bowling action, which was reported in the Pakistan Super League.

However, KKR will start their campaign on April 8 when they face Royal Challengers Bangalore at Eden Gardens.

Meanwhile, Twitterattis expressed their disappointment as the gorgeous league loses one more Australian star. Previously, IPL Governing Council banned Steve Smith and David Warner in the wake of the ball-tampering scandal.
