Faf du Plessis is often considered as one of the best batsmen in the world with a good technique to play across all the conditions.
However, he is currently facing a somewhat rare dry run in which he is unable to make progressive batting and good knocks to get his confidence back. But his recent dismissal in the ongoing fourth test against Australia was the one that he would be embarrassed.
South African skipper has had a day to forget regarding his batting, as he was awkwardly caught in front of the crease. Having come to bat in his usual No. 5 position after an emphatic innings by Aiden Markram, du Plessis has looked a bit late in judging the ball and was left in the middle of his decision.
Before he could get his bat down, he was already caught on the pads by Pats Cummins and was out on a golden duck. Although the impact was outside the off stump, since he did not offer the shot to the ball, it did not matter in this scenario.
The veteran batsman will play for Chennai Super Kings in IPL this season and would surely look to improve on his current form. But his batting looks to be a cause of concern for CSK management.
