South Africa spinner Imran Tahir has recently arrived in Chennai and greeted the fans in Tamil. The fans were ecstatic with the tweet as the player’s tweet went viral across the state.

The 38-year old got the help from Prasanna, who is currently working as the performance analyst for Proteas team. He greeted the fans in Tamil saying he would be reaching Chennai tomorrow and is looking forward to playing for CSK #whistlepodu.
One of the fans in reply has told him, “You are the Thala.”
However, despite the immense attention he garnered for the tweet, Tahir was diplomatic in letting them know that Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the CSK captain is the only Thala in the camp.
The spinner replied to the fan saying:
“Thanks for the love brother. There is only one thala and that is @msdhoni #whistle podu”

The veteran spinner is surely becoming famous amongst the masses of Chennai and Tamil Nadu for his epic reply. He will surely have a great time down south this season at least with the fans, who are embracing him with open arms.
Tahir will be one of the vital cogs in Chennai setup this season, as his fine variations could make him an asset for Stephen Fleming & Co. He had played under MS Dhoni earlier during his time at Rising Pune Super Giants and will look forward to the opportunity.
However, the Chennai side already have plenty of Indian spin options in the form of Ravindra Jadeja, Karn Sharma and Harbhajan Singh. But the former World No. one T20 bowler, Tahir is still a force in the shortest format. He could play his part to win any game for his side on a given day.
