Video: Hilariously unfortunate  run out by Vinay Kumar of Sreevats Goswami 

Bengal made a nightmare start in their first match of this Ranji season. At M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore defending champion Karnataka rattled Bengal top order as the visitor lost their first 4 wickets in 41 runs.

Karnataka bowlers Vinay Kumar took the first two wickets while HS Sharath took the wickets of Manoj Tiwary.

Opener Navad Ahmad and Abhishek Das nicked Vinay Kumar and were caught being the wicket by Robin Uthappa.

But, Shreevats Goswami coming at no 3 was run out by bowler Vinay Kumar. This run out is controversial as left hand  Goswami has defended Vinay Kumar was going back to the crease, he grounded his bat at the popping crease. But, the ball was not dead, Goswami was two, three steps away from his safe zone.

Vinay Kumar waits for few second and observed it, in between Goswami raised his bat once more, Kumar threw the ball that hit the stumps. Captain Vinay appealed for running out, the on-field umpire consulted with the third umpire who recommend them to give Goswami run out.

But, the question how can a batsman get run out when he already grounded his  the popping crease.
