With his wife Dipika Pallikal all set to represent India in squash in the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games, India cricket star Dinesh Karthik has become nervous as well as excited.
Four years ago, Dipika and her partner Joshna Chinappa won a historic CWG gold medal in the doubles for India at the last edition of the Games in Glasgow.
And with Pallikal eyeing a historic double, Karthik recalled the moments when he cheered her during the last games.

The keeper-batsman took to Twitter to share the fond memories. He also lavished praise on his wife and hoped for the best result.
“To be able to support my wife to achieve her goals is everything to me. Four years back we both got on a plane heading home with a gold medal from the Commonwealth Games, today as she lands for yet another Commonwealth Games after four long years of hard work, I can only hope that she has a time of her life in Gold Coast,” Karthik wrote.
“These four years have been tough. She’s worked hard, lived out of a suit case for many months, looked after our home, supported me through everything and yet never once complained about anything. For me to be able to support her is everything,” added Karthik.

Challenge awaits in Indian Premier League:
Meanwhile, Karthik himself is set to face a challenging time in the upcoming days. The 32-year old will lead Kolkata Knight Riders in the forthcoming edition of the Indian Premier League.
In a recent interview, he said he has the potential to bring the best out of the Knight Riders.
Karthik will have to feel the huge void left by Gautam Gambhir who led the team to two titles in the past.
“What Gautam Gambhir has achieved for KKR is phenomenal. He’s left a benchmark,” Karthik said.
