Former Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who now serves the national team in the limited-overs fold, has been conferred with third highest civilian award Padma Bhushan on April 2.
However, his national teammates took to the micro-blogging website Twitter to congratulate him.
For his major contribution to the gentleman’s game, Dhoni received an award in the house.
The Jharkhand-based Dhoni received it from President Nath Kovid at Rashtrapati Bhawan in New Delhi.
The 37-year-old Dhoni marched in style while donning the Indian Territorial Army uniform to receive the honour.
Talking about the coincidence on the same day, Dhoni won the World Cup for India against Sri Lanka in 2011 against Sri Lanka.

Cynosure for the eyes, Dhoni expressed the excitement as his wife Sakshi Dhoni could hide her emotions.
On November 1, 2011, following the World Cup triumph, territorial army awarded the honorary Lieutenant Colonel rank to Dhoni.
Moreover, Mr. Kovind also conferred Billiards star Pankaj Advani with the award.
During the felicitation, Dhoni and Advani shared a warm hug. Moreover, clad in a yellow saree Sakshi shared a laugh with his husband who stole the show.
In addition, Dhoni with proud wife Sakshi posed with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Surprisingly, the award came on the seventh anniversary of India’s World Cup victory in Mumbai.
Known for his finishing role, Dhoni went on to back the youngsters following the remarkable run as a leader as well.
After struggling in early days of an international career in 2004, Dhoni gave a strong fight to live his cricketing dream. He went on to feature in 318 One-day Internationals, 89 T20Is, and 90 Tests.
The wicketkeeper-batsman scored 9967 runs in the 50-over format besides 4,876 in Test fold. He amassed 1,444 runs in the shortest version of the game.
From head coach Ravi Shastri to Suresh Raina and Mohammad Kaif, Dhoni has been praised for his outstanding efforts on the field for the country.
