Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Virat Kohli that he is motivated than ever to win Indian Premier League title this season.
The franchise is yet to win the title in the past decade but have been through to final three times so far. They also had some crazy batting combinations over the years but could not surpass the final hurdle to clinch the title.
But Virat Kohli is keen to win the title and revealed he is more motivated than ever to win it this season. The team went for a complete revamp and bought many new stars for this season after finishing last in 2017 season.
“More than the fans I want to win the cup. I have been with Bangalore for last 10 years and we haven’t crossed the final hurdle three times. I can assure you, my commitment is going to be 120 percent to try and achieve the goal this time,” said Kohli after a training session here.
Much balanced side this season
Virat Kohli also believes that they have a much better bowling department this season. This could play a major factor in RCB’s chances in the upcoming season.
With Washington Sundar, Yuzvendra Chahal they already possess the best spin duo in the league. The experience of Umesh Yadav will also favor the side.
“The batting has been a strong point for RCB over the years, but I think the strengthening of bowling department has been a massive boost for us from this auction. I am very optimistic about our chances heading into this IPL,” said the skipper.
Virat Kohli has also admitted that they went for players who could play for the team, instead of worrying about their own performances in the games.
“Some of them I know personally. We picked up players who could contribute to our culture and not be so worried about their personal performances,” he said.
Royal Challengers Bangalore once again start as favorites to win the title this season. The likes of Brendon McCullum, Quinton de Kock, Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers will be tough for any side to stop once again.
