The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have ruled out any possibility of shifting CSK’s home matches to Kerala, opposing to reports by a few media outlets.

Meanwhile, the continuing Cauvery water sharing dispute between Tamil Nadu and Karnataka led to such speculations. Some media houses say that Thiruvananthapuram or Kochi can host some of CSK’s fixtures including one against Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Kerala Cricket Association secretary Jayesh George, however, revealed that he spoke to CSK CEO and BCCI officials regarding the issue.

Meanwhile, CSK Ceo, Kasi Vishwanath admitted he met him but denied about chatting on this issue.

I met him (George) in Mumbai yesterday (Saturday), and chatted for a while. But there was no discussion on shifting our matches to Kerala,” Viswanathan said to Sportstar.

Moreover, BCCI’s acting secretary Amitabh Chaudhary dismissed such claims.

There’s no such information to my knowledge,” he said.

Earlier, the KCA secretary said the state association was ready with grounds in Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram as alternatives. But now, with the franchise bosses and the BCCI officials clearing the air, Chennai’s M. A. Chidambaram Stadium will remain CSK’s fortress, at least for now.

Also, Rajiv Shukla has given a word on the matter.

Amidst all the speculations, CSK will host Kolkata Knight Riders tomorrow in their backyard.

The Chennai team scripted a historic come back after beating defending champions Mumbai Indians by one wicket in the tournament opener.
